How to help out If you want to help but you're not sure where to start, try improving the various stub articles by adding content. Another helpful activity would be to check the list of wanted pages for frequently linked-to articles that don't exist yet. To follow the changes to this wiki, and to look out for new users and edits use recent changes. You can find a list of useful templates on Category:Templates, some of which are documented on Elite Dangerous Wiki:Templates. If you need help editing, you could start with Help:Editing or the tutorial. Want to discuss stuff? If you want to discuss anything specific to an article, you can use the talk page for that article. For more general discussions you can use the Discussion tab of this page, or a Forum if the forums have been set up. Things to do Useful activities Help expand some article stubs. Locate and mark pages that need expanding as article stubs. Create links to some orphaned pages. Upload and add some images! Visit Special:Upload. Add them to a category too, like [[Category:Images]]. Write a new article that's on the wanted list! Fix any double redirects by redirecting the first page to the third page. Check for broken redirects and either mark them for deletion or find a more appropriate target. Consider splitting up very long pages into different pages or subpages. Create some links on dead end pages. Add more... Languages

These are available for almost all languages Elite Dangerous Wiki is available in (with the exception of {{User en-0}} and {{User en-4}}), but listing them all here would take too much space. Just substitute the language code you want to use for "en". See Babel for a complete list.

You can combine up to 100 languages in a single box by using the affix in {{babel}}; for example:

Awards

It is the custom to reward vigorous Elite Dangerous Wiki contributors for their hard work and due diligence by awarding them a fitting barnstar, or other award. Substitute the appropriate text when giving an award.

WikiProject Barnstars

A WikiProject barnstar is awarded for work on a WikiProject, or work of substantial interest to those members of that WikiProject. See also Awards by WikiProject. These are some examples.

Outstanding contributions may include: recording ten good articles, recording three featured articles, or doing an incredibly good job of recording one long, complex, excellent, featured article despite all odds. Awarded by SPOKEN. This award was introduced on June 28, 2005 by Chameleon.

Userboxes

A userbox is a small coloured box which allow users to add small messages on their user page. It is an extension of the babelboxes used for user's language abilities. Examples include what web browser they use, hobbies or WikiProjects they participate in.
