Miscellany for deletion covers local project, help, user and other pages that do not fit the article, file, template, category or redirect discussion processes.
Open a discussion
Check the page history, purpose and incoming links. Explain the proposed removal on the affected page's talk page and identify alternatives such as correction, archiving, merging or a useful redirect. Use {{Mfd}} to identify the discussion. Its optional discussion parameter may link a particular local discussion page or section. Notify affected editors and, for a user-space page, its owner where appropriate.
Review the purpose
A quiet project page or an old discussion can be a useful historical record. Do not delete records merely because a process is no longer active. Distinguish abandoned tests or spam from useful documentation. Consider privacy and copyright issues without republishing sensitive material in a public discussion.
Record the outcome
Summarise the decision and its reasons on the talk page. Seek an uninvolved administrator for disputed or destructive action. Deletion requires the actual local permission and a specific log reason. Preserve contributor attribution when material is merged, and retain relevant discussion records. No imported daily log, voting threshold or automatic expiry applies.
