Elite Dangerous Wiki:Biographies of living persons
Biographies of living persons provides local editorial guidance for the independent Elite Dangerous Wiki. Apply it alongside community standards and existing local policies.
Care with real people
Articles and discussions about real, living people require particular care. Use reliable public sources, keep coverage relevant to the game or wiki, and distinguish a person's documented professional work from personal speculation. Do not publish private contact details, allegations based on rumour or identifying information about pseudonymous players.
Contentious material
Remove unsourced or poorly sourced contentious claims promptly, including from captions, file descriptions and discussion pages. Explain the problem without repeating unnecessary private information. Ask a local administrator for help when revision visibility or ongoing abuse needs attention.
Scope and discussion
A player disagreement is not a reason to create a dossier about another person. Follow Project:Naming and Shaming, Project:User Conduct Rules and Project:Reliable sources. These protections apply even when the page is not formally a biography.
