Elite Dangerous Wiki:Vandalism

From Elite Dangerous Wiki

Vandalism provides local editorial guidance for the independent Elite Dangerous Wiki. Apply it alongside community standards and existing local policies.

Deliberate damage

Vandalism is intentional damage, such as inserting knowingly false information, replacing content with nonsense, malicious page moves or destructive removal. Mistakes, unfamiliar formatting, a good-faith disagreement or a new editor's incomplete contribution are not automatically vandalism.

Respond proportionately

Check the revision diff and restore useful content without discarding unrelated constructive changes. Explain the correction in an edit summary. If the editor may have misunderstood, give a clear, factual explanation on their talk page. Preserve evidence of repeated disruption and ask a local administrator for assistance when needed.

Do not escalate the damage

Avoid retaliatory edits, threats and unsupported accusations. Do not publish private information while reporting abuse. Account restrictions require the appropriate local permission; a warning template alone imposes none. See Project:Assume good faith and Project:User Conduct Rules.
