Talk page guidelines provides local editorial guidance for the independent Elite Dangerous Wiki. Apply it alongside community standards and existing local policies.
Discuss improvements
Use an article talk page to discuss its content, evidence and organisation. Start a descriptive heading for a new topic and link the relevant passage or source. Keep conversation civil and focused. For another editor's conduct, follow Project:User Conduct Rules rather than turning an article discussion into a personal dispute.
Sign and reply
Sign discussion comments with ~~~~. Indent replies so the exchange is readable, and distinguish quotations from your own words. Do not sign article text. Correcting your own comment is acceptable; avoid rewriting another person's meaning or silently changing a comment after others have replied.
Summaries and archives
Summarise decisions where future editors can find them. Archive lengthy inactive discussions with a visible link to their location, preserving history and attribution. Do not archive an active disagreement to suppress it. See Project:Consensus.
