Elite Dangerous Wiki:Deletion review

Deletion review explains how to ask for a second look at a local deletion decision. It applies alongside Project:Deletion policy, Project:Candidates for speedy deletion, Project:Administrators and Project:Consensus.

When to request review

Use this process when a page or file has been deleted and you believe the decision should be reconsidered. Explain the specific reason, such as useful game-related content that was overlooked, an available source or attribution record, a suitable merge or redirect, or a mistaken application of local policy. A request is for review; it does not guarantee restoration.

Do not recreate deleted material simply to bypass review. This is especially important where the deletion concerned copyright, licensing, privacy or personal information. Ask an administrator to assess those concerns before any content is restored or republished.

Making a request

Contact an administrator through their user talk page or the relevant local discussion page. Identify the deleted title, link the deletion log entry or relevant history if available, and give concise evidence for reconsideration. If the deletion administrator is involved in the disagreement, ask an uninvolved administrator to review it where one is available.

There is no fixed deadline, automatic restoration, or external review committee established by this page. Keep the discussion civil and focused on the deletion reason and evidence. Do not repeatedly recreate, restore, or renominate the same material while review is underway.

Review and outcome

The reviewing administrator should consider the deletion rationale, page history, relevant policy, available sources and attribution, and practical alternatives such as correction, merging or redirecting. The administrator should explain the outcome. Restoration or other technical action may be taken only by an account with the required configured permissions; Special:ListGroupRights shows the current capabilities. Record the result in the relevant discussion and deletion log where applicable.
