Elite Dangerous Wiki:Deletion policy
Deletion policy provides local editorial guidance for the independent Elite Dangerous Wiki. Apply it alongside community standards and existing local policies.
Consider alternatives
Before requesting deletion, check the page history and whether correction, reverting vandalism, merging or redirecting would preserve useful content. A short but useful game article is not automatically a deletion candidate. Do not remove sourced content merely because it is unpopular or disputed.
Request and review
For an ordinary request, explain the reason on the page's talk page and ask a local administrator to review it. Identify the exact page or file and link supporting evidence. For clear spam, tests, vandalism or obvious duplicates, follow Project:Candidates for speedy deletion. Adding a template does not itself delete anything.
Administrator action
Review history, incoming links and any useful content before deleting. Give a specific reason in the deletion log. Preserve attribution when content is merged rather than removed. A disputed deletion can be raised with an uninvolved administrator on their talk page. There is no automatic seven-day deadline or imported numbered deletion scheme. See Project:Administrators.
