Help:Options to hide an image

Removing an image from a page, deleting its file and hiding it in your own browser are different actions.

Article changes

If an image is irrelevant, misleading or otherwise unsuitable for the article, explain the problem on its talk page or make a justified edit under Project:Image use policy. Removing a [[File:...]] inclusion stops that page displaying it; the file remains available elsewhere. Check its usage before proposing deletion.

Personal display

Your browser or accessibility tools may provide image-display controls, but this wiki does not promise a per-file personal hiding control. Do not alter shared templates or site styles merely to hide an image from your own view. A collapsed section can still load the image and does not restrict access to it.

Rights or privacy concerns

Contact a local administrator with the affected title and a concise explanation. Avoid repeating sensitive information. A CSS rule or a removed article inclusion does not make a public file private. Follow Project:Files for discussion and Project:Biographies of living persons where relevant.
