A couple of observations after buying one last week. Jump range very poor. you will need a class A drive for ranges over 15ly with a full load and you won't get very far with the stock fsd. I wouldn't recommend running without shields. It's very easy to scrape the paintwork going in and out of starports and does attract a few more persistent pirates than when in a type 6. If you evaded taking damage from pirates well in a type 6 though, it is just as easy in the type 7. The lower speed is more than offset by the greater mass when charging FSD and you can be on your way again before the shields are down providing you don't turn and try to fight!
