I love people trash talking how bad this ship is. It's really not. Here's a little secret: most ships bloody suck at combat if they're not at least G3 engineered (on average) due to the absolute exponential increase in speed, combat potential, and survivability that engineers offers. Going without that just means your exponentially less capable in larger ships where maneuverability is too slow to fully counteract incoming damage, where damage mitigation by numbers (and pip management) becomes even more important. An A-ranked Corvette without engineers will lose to an even modestly engineered D-rated Corvette almost every single time. Put simply, a G1 Engineered Dirty Thrusters at D-rank are better and superior than default A-rated thrusters. That's how nuts it is.
G5 Engineered, the T10 is insanely powerful. It can use an extremely varied weapon load out, has very low engine distibutor draw so you can boost for days without any pips to engine, and it's not affected by fewer pips to engine meaning it's still very maneuverable.
It also has extremely powerful vertical thrusters that allows you to control its drift in FA on AND FA-off with ease. It also is less effected by being outside the ship's "blue zone" of thrust, meaning the rotational speed of it is almost unaffected by even traveling at max speed. While it's MAXIMUM turn rate is slower than a corvette or anaconda, it'll turn on a dime no matter what speed it's going at, letting you bring a huge amount of firepower to bear at any time. Sure, it's no PVP machine but it wrecks in PVE.
