Just as a point of correction, whatever the Thargoids might be, or what their abilities are, they almost certainly are NOT a type-III Kardashev civilization. Not unless they've cannibalized every star in the galaxy into Dyson swarms or else have access to the equivalent constant energy output via some other means than Dyson swarms, kugelblitz black holes perhaps. Otherwise, they might not even qualify as a type-II civilization, much less a type-III, and humanity isn't a type-II yet in Elite Dangerous, at least not by the classic definition.
A type-III civilization is able to produce a constant energy output of approximately 10^36 watts, which roughly corresponds to the combined solar energy output per second of every star in a galaxy roughly the size of our own, and would likely have a population in the hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of trillions. Suffice it to say, if either of these apply to the Thargoids, then we are well and truly frakked. :)
