Best choice for every player is to play the way it suits his play-style and fun best, you wisenheimers! Why not CDs? That's why. Or maybe because DDs are much faster and the agility of a skilled pilot is his best weapon. What do you need to be cooler for? It's all cool enough if engineered and combined properly. If you think your trashy ships with you as pilots are better, then meet him out there and fight it out, but stop taling. Why on earth would you want your opponents to have better ships, even when it's just better after your own infantile oppinion?
