Mining is by no means a fast way of making money, you shoot off 1-5 chunks of ore, lets just say its gold, collect lets say 18 tonnes of gold ore and sell this at a high rate (i will omit travel times since that would make it even more unfair), thats roughly 170000 credits of profit, minus expenses (fuel, you wont use a scoop since you got racks, and damage taken from pirates, since you wont have a shield, again because of extra racks) but lets just say you break even at 170000 profit. this would take about 30 minutes?
Now lets do combat.
Find a asteroid belt (pref a ringed planet or moon) with anaconda class ships (enemy's) locate one, scan it (warrent scanner) wait for the sys def NPC's to wreck its shields, then line yourself up for an attack run on the FSD subsystem, keep rototing around that fat slow sow of a ship keep your nose on that FSD and in 2-3 "clips" of ammo from 4 weapons the FSD subsystem is busted and detonates, taking the enemy ship with it, Time taken 3 min (tops) profit, 50-170K (depending on what bounty's where on his head, If the target had bounties in other systems add another 20-40K per kill in other factions)
Rinse and repeat as needed, stack your energy: 4x Weap, 1X sys, 1X engine. Dont miss to much and your shields will never break, you might need to recharge shields if they do, just hide behind a roid.
30 minutes of this netted me 1.5Mil a few times over allready (1 mil in local system, 500000 in other systems) Biggest time sink is finding the actual spot these guys "spawn"
if your looking for easy fights then just hit the regular systems, for around 250K credits per 30 minutes.
Oh and always check the bullitin board, might be a mission in said system to kill pirates, 8-12K is not much extra cash, but the reputation is a welcome thing.
