From Elite Dangerous Wiki

I really hate the fact (esp. for the chance to equip repair limpets in far off exploration vessels), that limpets have all got to be stored in cargo, w/o any inherent cargo capacity to the controller itself. It makes no sense, and creates an unnecessary problem, i.e. having to have an additional modul slot reserved for cargo, for the repair limpet controller (2 modules total) to actually do anything.

It's effing stupid, and there is no reason for it. Have additional limpets go into cargo, that's fine, and will still be a thing. But for a proper sized limpet controller hoarding up to 4 limpets (the amount one can synthesize) should not be too much to ask. Refineries can hold additional minerals just as well, when cargo is full. There are too many sacrifices to be made as is, for exploration, this one is totally unecessary.

besides: why can't all ships hold some additional inherent cargo, anyway?... if the manufacturers can waste so much god damn precious space for volumptuous bridges/pilots cabin (which, from a security standpoint, wouldn't make sense to begin with, in a space faring vehicle), why not have some for just a handful of maintenance items? - why do they even weight so much? - why does an "item" of [e.g.] grain or polymers weight the same as an "item" of gold or uranium, for the same volume, anyway?

sigh.... nothing, NOTHING in this game makes any sense -.-

it gives me a headache just to think about it...
