A word of wisdom, the Cutter also makes a fantastic mining ship.

For combat, what it lacks in agility it makes up for in it's ability to soak up damage with a decent load out. Like with all ships with low manouverability, it's best to fly the Cutter with flight assist turned off. All weapons should be gimbled if you're taking it into confilct zones, other wise turrets are fine for discouraging pirates. Fixed weapons are a write off on this beast though, even with flight control off, you're not going to bring them to bare as fast as an Anaconda, or the Federal Corvette. Aside from that though, the Cutter makes a great anvil. As it can attract fire and distract other ships, while it's smaller more agile allies flank and drop the sledge hammer.

Also this ship is good for any pirate wing, because it's got enough fire power to make any freighter commander poo themself. At the same time it's got a huge ammount of space that can be dedicated to cargo. Which is what also makes it real good for cargo hauling and mining.

Exploration though is right out, too short a jump range paired with it's huge overhead maintanence closts... It's just not worth the trouble.
