I think above comment meant to say 100tonnes cargo in T-6 with (lowest class) shields. Although Idk why they would suggest a T-6 in comparison with a Clipper...
Anyway, if you are not getting Rank missions, despite doing lots of rep type missions for appropriate factions, then change locations. You can get rank missions from a port that you have no personal rep with the locals, as long as you have enough major faction rep, and it's possible to be allied with a local faction, and have enough major faction rep, but just not be getting any rank missions from that port. It's wierd like that...
