From Elite Dangerous Wiki

I have to agree that a 60 million budget is WAY too small to compare a python to a FDL. Full A grade outfitted ships are ~150M for the FDL and ~250M for The python, both fitted for combat, not a multipurpose trader. To effectively compare them, you'd have to have a budget of at least 100M, at which point, depending on which modules you prioritize to upgrade first, the differences are almost moot. It basically boils down to your income and profession. Are you a trader who likes to pick up bounties on the side? Python is your best bet. Are you a Full time bounty hunter who is a little strapped for cash and is looking forward to the more varried huge hardpoints? go with the FDL. Have a quarter million to spend and 3 weeks to kill tracking down all the parts? try both out and see what you prefer
