That is a great comparison, actually. Many people choose the Imperial Clipper over this due to cargo capacity, speed, shields, etc., but I prefer this ship overall. It's meant to attack from the front, and, unlike the Clipper, it can keep firing once your opponent gets right up in front of you. And the two extra hardpoints could go towards turreted weapons, that keep going as you turn, assuming the ship you were attacking was large enough to have survived that long.
