I did every rep+++ mission for empire I could find. There are quicker ways to grid money, the money here is a nice side effect but I'd seriously consider leaving money out of this grind as the time you save by finishing the grind sooner would equate to millions of credits if you get yourself in an exploration ship and do "road to riches" (google it).
So if you're wanting to get in that cutter, fully equipped, ASAP (or clipper), start off by doing these missions, rep+++ all the way, and then do road to riches for ~20 hours. Once you've done that, you'll have more than enough to buy the ship and all the modules you want.
