The 2 medium and 1 Large hardpoints make for some nice combos. All in all it's not a replacement for the vulture for bounty hunting but more for the sense of smuggling and piracy. When fitted for combat it's quite tanky, however the manoeuvrability of 5 is felt, it can be difficult to stay in an 'conda's blind spot. All in all I much prefer the explorer to the scout, due to the scout being pretty squishy. When fitted for combat with a fully upgrade FSD your still getting around a 29ly jump. So all in all a decent wing of Explores could do some super long range bounty hunting, but I feel you would be hard pressed to solo it.
On a side note I've been interested in doing this but haven't yet. That is, turning this into a gun boat with class two missle racks. Sounds like an interesting combo.
