Tbh people really don't use torps against hull very much. They are most commonly used with reverb cascade to take out the shield generator. The amount of damage missiles, or any other weapon for that matter, do to external and internal modules is effected by the resistances you have on your hull. So if you find your ship is getting recked by missiles and you have lot's of hull you might consider this mod in addition to mrp's to help with that problem. Otherwise I wouldn't reccomend this mod over heavy duty for any reason.
