You'll be able to take more damage if you cycle Bi-Weaves I mean. Damn this for not letting me correct mistakes.
And they aren't necessarily just for broken shields. In fact, they're better if you don't actually let your shields go down. I fought a guy who I thought that infinite shield cells. He didn't, he just had Bi-weaves. Every time his shields weakened, he just boosted away and let them charge up again. Could he have tanked the same with Prismatics? Maybe. But then he probably wouldn't have been able to mount two class 3 plasma accelerators and a bunch of burst lasers as well.
