Help:Talk page
Talk pages let editors discuss improvements to the associated page. Use the page's Discussion tab to reach it. Follow Project:Talk page guidelines, Project:Dispute and Project:User Conduct Rules.
Start or answer a discussion
Use a new-topic control where available, or add a descriptive heading at the bottom. Link the affected passage, explain the issue and propose a correction. Keep replies in the same discussion. In source editing, indent a reply with one or more colons and sign with four tildes:
== Suggested correction == The source gives a different value. Could we update the table? ~~~~ :Here is the relevant source and proposed wording. ~~~~
Do not sign ordinary article text. Allow the response periods required by local conduct rules.
Keep discussion useful
Address the evidence rather than the contributor's motives. Do not rewrite another person's comment to change its meaning. Avoid posting private information, personal accusations or off-topic conversation. Seek an uninvolved administrator's help with persistent disruption.
Frequently asked questions
An FAQ can summarise recurring questions and their agreed answers. Keep it linked to the relevant discussion and current sources. A template does not create a separate FAQ page automatically; supply the intended content or create a real supporting page before linking it.
