I think the thermal resistance mod for the shield generator is a good idea but if you wanted to do one of the boosters other than heavy duty I would do resistance augmented for several reasons. 1 the thermal booster can only go up to grade 3 and at its best only increases the thermal resistance by as much as the grade 5 resistance booster does. 2 the thermal makes kinetic and explosive resistance go down where resistance augmented makes them both go up which will make up for the thermal shield generator. I would say it runs slightly warm and once you overcharge the power plant it will probably run even a little warmer. You could make dirty drives work without to much trouble but personally I would go for clean drives. I would personally go for all gimballed because if you are fighting npc's they aren't going to be a huge problem for you to turn on and the gimballed weapons will do more damage along with your fighter helping out it shouldn't be a problem. If you do pvp I would still do gimballed because in that case you need all the firepower you can get and you are probably going to be having a lot of head on fly by's with the other cmdr more than trying to out turn them.
