Yes the top large hardpoint can feel a bit left out sometimes.
Even gimballed only in your fist pass if the enemy does not suspect it you can hit with all weapons, then when maneuvering it is mostly the lower three or the top who have a field of fire. if you can manage to stay at least 400-500m away and keep the enemy right in the middle of your screen then you can get him with all fours. Think the top hardpoint might be used for a lesser used weapon or something big to quicker take out heavies when the three lasers in the lower hardpoitns ahve taken out the shields. I tried a Plasma accelerator, and while it has a niche punch it did not fit with my playingstyle.
So most of the time you will fire with 3 weapons on the enemy and if you manage it all four, and if he pitches away hard to the top then only one, until you catch him again.
