Gravitational pull of stars and planets on the two ships also seems to affect the range.  In my experience, high gravitational pull reduces the abilty to interdict even if  close to the ship.  Low gravitational pull and you can interdict at greater distances.  Maybe these factors change with bigger class and higher ratings - I dunno, only ever used a 2A in my vulture
