I mean, we're talking about a game that, from the very begining, allowed you to drop from 1Mm/s to less than 400m/s without being splattered across the canopy by sheer G-forces, or allows ships the size of Farrguts and Interdictors to harness litterally serveral suns worth of energy to punch a hole through the fabric of space and time not once, but twice, each jump, and communicate in real time through the holes. Technological inconsistency makes the game possible. It makes A LOT of games possible.
