__EXPECTED_UNCONNECTED_PAGE__

Usage

This page documents the combined WikiProject Food and Drink banner templates. By unifying the various food and drink related projects under a single banner, it:

  1. Leaves the talk pages less cluttered
  2. Simplifies the classification and rating systems, allowing a single editor to classify an article for multiple projects.

For a complete guide to article assessment for this project, please see the assessment page.

Project support

The banner currently supports the following projects:

Class is inherited from the {{WikiProject banner shell}} for the article. Importance is inherited from the WP Food assessments. The banner can be modified to allow separate project-specific class and importance assessments, if needed. If anyone wishes to add another related project, please request it on the talk page.

Formatting

All banners use the {{WikiProject Food and drink}} tag. Please format the tag as follows:

Basic syntax

{{WikiProject Food and drink|importance=}}

{{WikiProject Food and drink
 |importance =
 |attention =
 |auto =
 |drink =
 |needs-infobox =

General parameters

  • class – This WikiProject follows Project-Independent Quality Assessment. Please add valid |class= values to {{WikiProject banner shell}} instead of this WikiProject. Valid class values can be found at Wikipedia:Content assessment.
  • listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Bill Brasky, use |listas=Brasky, Bill so that the talk page will show up in the B's and not the B's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
  • |attention= parameter - use this switch sparingly on those articles most in need of work
  • |auto= parameter - used by a bot to classify stub article talk pages
  • |drink= parameter - used to change the portal focus and portal image to the Drink portal
  • |needs-infobox= parameter - used to mark those articles that are in need of an infobox to improve the article quality
  • |needs-photo= parameter - used to mark those articles that are in need of an image to improve the article quality. "A picture is worth a thousand words."
  • |needs-refs= parameter - used to mark those articles that are in need of additional citations

WikiProject topic specific tags

Note: please do not use the following switch until the project signs off on the tag:

  • |wine= parameter -

Examples

Just add {{WikiProject Food and drink}} to the top of the talk page of any food and drink related article. This is the parent project's banner, for all food and drink related sub-projects and task forces; however, for drink or beverage related articles, please add the |drink=yes parameter.

Just add {{WikiProject Food and drink|drink=yes}} to the top of the talk page of any drink or beverage related article.

Associated task forces and projects

Just add the following project banner template to the top of the talk page of any task force or associated project related article, with a yes for the relevant task force or project parameter, as follows:

{{WikiProject Food and drink
