This documentation covers {{Vandal}}, a user information template for reporting accounts, IP addresses, or IP ranges that are vandalising Wikipedia, particularly those making large numbers of rapid vandal edits. It is a wrapper of {{User-multi}} and includes a link to Special:Nuke to facilitate reverting mass edits made in rapid succession. It should not be used when the editor in question is not making vandal edits.
Basic usage
Add the template followed by the username or IP address and a brief explanation of the issue:
- {{Vandal|Example}} vandalised past 4th warning → User-multi error: callParserFunction: function "#uic" was not found. vandalised past 4th warning
- {{Vandal|192.0.2.16}} Repeatedly blanking articles → 192.0.2.16 (talk⧼dot-separator⧽contribs⧼dot-separator⧽deleted contribs⧼dot-separator⧽filter log⧼dot-separator⧽WHOIS⧼dot-separator⧽RDNS⧼dot-separator⧽RBLs⧼dot-separator⧽http⧼dot-separator⧽block user⧼dot-separator⧽block log) Repeatedly blanking articles
Requesting talk page access revocation
When an account is already blocked but continues to abuse its talk page (for example, by sending large numbers of pings), you can use the template to request revocation of talk page access (TPA) at WP:AIV. Use {{Vandal|tpa=yes}} to indicate to administrators that TPA needs to be revoked. The bot will not remove the request until access is removed.
