Elite Dangerous Wiki:Spam
Spam provides local editorial guidance for the independent Elite Dangerous Wiki. Apply it alongside community standards and existing local policies.
Relevance and intent
Do not use articles, user pages or discussions for unrelated advertising, repeated promotional links or unsolicited recruitment. A useful source or relevant player-group reference is not automatically spam. Assess whether the material helps explain the subject and follows the local player-group rules.
Handling unwanted material
Remove clear unrelated promotion and explain why. Check a questionable link before accusing its author of abuse; do not repeatedly visit a suspected harmful site. Discuss borderline cases on the talk page. Repeated disruptive promotion can be referred to a local administrator with links to the relevant edits.
Legitimate links
Use a descriptive link only where it contributes useful information. Do not copy a list of external links into every related page. See Project:External links, Project:Player groups and Project:User Conduct Rules.
