I recently purchased another ASP explorer and fitted it fully for exploring rather than my other one I use for smuggling. I get 31+ lightyear jumps and have the thing deweaponized and loaded with mostly D class modules, an advanced discovery scanner, D3 shield generator, detailed surface scanner, a 2-vehicle SRV bay, and a class 3 AFMU. I performed a dry run trip to Barnard's Loop and the surrounding nebulas in a 4 hour trip, landed on about 7 planets (vertically crash-landed to slow down and lost 20% hull on one 2.78g rock), raked in 1.2 million in cartiographic data upon arrival back at Obsidian Orbital, and ranked up to Pathfinder. HIP 38064 is my next destination, as it is the same distance I just pulled.
I think I'm doing well, but any tips for an aspiring explorer?
