From Elite Dangerous Wiki

I highlighted the thread.

Players and groups can get GalNet self-written articles published about events, a groups actions or statements. Players that have influenced the universe greatly should in my opinion also be part of the wiki, but with a very high threshold of approval on the policy. Groups are currently allowed, by some arbitrary number of group members, having influenced a system or universe in some way. These are all accepted as per our current ED:GROUPS policy

Noticeable examples of Player groups having influenced the universe would be Mercs of Mikunn getting a station on the Mikunn system and getting another faction in the system. The Lugh for Independence group started the whole The War for Lugh which was one of the first system to test the Influence system. Furthermore, the Lugh for Independence managed to publish a few GalNet articles that interested a lot of people to start turning over the system from Federation to Independent, which later got Community Goals which would determine how the system turned out in the end. This wouldn't have made possible without the group, and as such is directly ties into the Lore of the Elite: Dangerous universe.

If the group is disbanded, the article should still remain, but clearly notify that it is disbanded, as the group has had some impact before. One could argue however that The Black Fleet does not fit into the wiki as it hasn't gotten much data of the group, how many members it has or what it has done to influence the universe. But GalNet posts about Emperor's Grace and Cosmic State have proven those groups to have had an impact on the galaxy.

And lastly, player groups will soon have more power than ever where player groups are ranked by Frontier themselves where in they can affect the universe in some way. More notably in the threads below:

With all of this in mind I think there should be player groups on the wiki. But improvements to the policy might be necessary.
