New to the game myself but wanted to comment on this as well. I had just got the imperial courier a couple days prior, and A-classed what was available for it. So far in every scenario the ship held up against pirates, by either fighting it out or if I was out numbered 3-1 by running. That Fed Gunship was the first I fought that both out turned and out gunned me, AND I couldn't outrun when I noticed my shields nearly gone. The defeat was so devestating I ended up going back to the cobra since it has the highest ability to run.
