Starship Enterprises is a Federal umbrella corporation that operates out of the LP 339-7 system. SE operates through a number of smaller subsidiary companies, which it sponsors, offering technical and business advice and financial backing.
SE's current CEO is Dr Lewis Chapman, multi billionaire business maverick. Starship Enterprises Head offices are currently located in Whitson Orbital. in the LP 339-7 system.
History
Starship Enterprises was first founded in 3295 as a service to provide rare artifacts and goods of high value exclusively to the rich and famous across the colonized galaxy.
Using the success of this venture as a launch pad, Starship Enterprises then branched out into various other sectors, including private security, exploration and mining. working alongside Blue Creative, SE firmly established itself as a powerhouse in LP 339-7 and in 3299 featured on the top 10 most influential corporations list.
Speculation across the system was that SE and Blue creative would merger to take on bigger and more established corporate entities but in a shocking twist of events during one of the final meetings between the two companies, negotiations were broken off and soon after SE declared that it was no longer going to work with Blue Creative.
Starship Enterprises later took Whitson Orbital from the declining IVP faction to base their new head offices and it is here that the corporations headquarters can still be found today.
The success of the companies' CEO, Dr. Lewis Chapman, led him to run in the local elections and after an extended campaign he won out to become the systems governor. SE took So-Yeon as their second base, favoring the green, agricultural economies and their adjacent Earth-like worlds.
SE then poured large resources into its science divisions, especially into bio-medical research and development. One venture that rose up was the 'Terran Research Project', a scheme to clone old Earth species of animals whose genetic data was stored on file, including many extinct species from Earths history. The project's aim was to release the clones onto newly terraformed planets to help grow their ecosystems. The animals DNA would be tailored to suit their new environments and specially selected to fit into the new biomes.
This venture was so successful that Dr. Chapman eventually commissioned the construction of a state of the art Wild-Life Park and Tourism center, based on planet 4A called Earth's Inheritance Wildlife Reserve. This station became SE Corp's bastion in the outer system.
SE retains good ties with a number of local corporations, as well as having good relations with the Federation.
Infrastructure
SE is comprised of a number of smaller subsidiary companies. Each company specializes in its own field and can act independently but can also, when required, be governed by head office directly.
SE sponsors these small companies, offering them business and technical advice and financial aid, if the companies grow to be successful ventures then their funding will be increased accordingly. Each company will fall into one of three sectors, Logistics, SES&I (SE, Science and Information), and Private Security. Starship Enterprises will often co-ordinate several of their smaller companies to take on bigger projects. These are termed 'Active Ventures'.
In this way SE Corp is able to evolve as a company, adapting to the current needs of the local systems. SE has gone through many changes because of this, beginning life as a trade focused corporation, then becoming more combat focused and working closely with the federal government, then focusing more on science and discovery, and more recently, going back to trade, humanitarian aid, and mining. The nature of SE Corps infrastructure helps them to quickly capitalize on any potential profits the galaxy may offer.

Assets
SE currently holds three stations in the LP 339-7 system. After the corporations CEO Dr. Lewis Chapman won the local elections to claim governorship, SE have become the controlling faction in 339 and many of their combat focused pilots have been incorporated into the local security forces. LP 339-7 is a system of two halves. The 'core system', consisting of the three inner planets and the 'outer colonies' based around the systems three gas giants. Much of the commerce and wealth is focused in the core system where life is lavish and easy. In reflection to that the outer colonies are much poorer and many people take to lives of crime to supplement their meager earnings. Starship Enterprises are working to bridge the gap between the outer and inner system in 339 and bring more wealth and commerce into the outer colonies. Because of this SE constructed an important settlement and research facility around the first of the three gas giants in 339. Its other two stations are based in the core system, both around earth like worlds.
So-Yeon
So-Yeon Dock was constructed around the beautiful second planet. After a long and complicated period of teraforming, this planet has finally been colonized. It has a large agricultural economy based on the light side of the globe (So-Yeon planet is tidally locked and so one side continually faces the sun) importing bio waste which it converts into fertilizer and compost to aid in the production of various food exports including many varieties of fruit, vegetables and cereals. The human population are mainly housed around the dark side of the planet where there is less of an impact on the planets wildlife. So-Yeon acts as the Agricultural center for SE operations trading out food stuffs to systems which have been struck by famine.
Whitson
Whitson Orbital is based around the third of the systems planets which has also been teraformed for agricultural purposes. This planet was a more successful attempt at teraforming, Whitson planet is cooler and more stable than its nearby celestial counterpart and attracts a high number of the systems inhabitants. Its economy setup is almost identical to its neighbor with food production on the light side and human habitation on the dark side of this tidally locked body. Whitson acts as a headquarters for SE and although it supports an agricultural economy, it is mainly used now by the SES&I department to conduct exploration and research projects as well as being a home to the Galaxy Tours subsidiary company.
The Park
Earth's Inheritance Wildlife Reserve was constructed as part of a project to bring more commerce into the outer system. It was such a large project that Dr. Chapman requested help from the galactic community to bring in the required resources. Earth's Inheritance (called 'the Park' locally) has an Industrial/Tourism economy and imports a whole range of items including food stuffs, metals, advanced meds, and a number of technology items. The Park has two bio domes where many species of Earth animals including many extinct creatures from Earths past are engineered for the viewing public. It supports a state of the art tourism lounge for passing visitors as well as facilities to rearm, refuel and repair. The Park has become the new home of the Terran Wildlife Project, as well as being an important launch pad for operating gunslingers and miners alike.
