I was pretty sure my edit would be removed by some fanboy, but by an admin... come on! Like most space games, E:D is DEFINITELY NOT a Newtonian space combat game. Claiming that is a lie to anyone searching for a realistic space game and there is not need to be a physician to see this. Second and third law are obviously (and purposedly) broken in this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_laws_of_motion
Readers of the FAQ deserve to be well informed about this, even brievly. E:D is close to be a Newtonian space combat game, but it isn't, because it is restricted to first law and there are three. Period.
You may think reality is not fun (like Frontier does). Nice, that's your subjective view. Not mine, and definitely not the one of people looking for pure realism (FOR FUN, yes, some people really think reality IS fun), at least with respect to Newton, one of the most notable physicists of human history.
Don't take it wrong. E:D breaks two Newton laws, this is a fact. Nevertheless, I think it's still a fun game, this is fact too. It has many more experience to offer. My edit was brief and informative. No judgments, negative statements or anything wrong... I did not even say the word "broken", just facts in one short sentence. And I think the complementary statements from David Braben about physics do not clarify the fact that his game does not strictly conform to Newton's laws. Maybe I'm fussy about it, still I'm a player, not a physicist, and I have been deceived by that outrage to Newton even though I don't regret my purchase. I guess I'm not the only one on this planet to be touchy about physics, so people should know the truth.
Now you may think my edit was badly formulated or something... then fix it (english is not my native language, I agree), but don't remove the fact and lie to people. What's the point of a wiki tell me?<ac_metadata title="When will space games stop insulting Newton's laws?"> </ac_metadata>
