I looked over the Portable infoboxes when it was first released, but last time I checked there was no scripting support built-in. One of our most seen and used infoboxes are Template:ShipInfobox which automates cargo capacity, calculating insurance price as well as making sure single or plural names are used, all this can be seen through Module:ShipInfobox.
I like the work you've done with the CharacterInfobox, but if we can't migrate over with scripts and decease the work needed to use the Infoboxes I can't see that we're going to switch over fully. CharacterInfobox doesn't need any scripting luckily, and your draft looks promising so we might end up using that though. With the Command Capital variable in your draft, it would be possible to append the "CC" text based on the "format" element yes?
