Just a fyi this effect isn't limited to lasers only. It is also available on cannons, multi cannons, and missiles. Further more just running a couple ts cannons can be enough to severely disable your enemy if they tend to run warm. I do agree that it is useless on npc's because they seem immune to all special effects.
