Probably best to evade a potential Interdiction, since if you use it you have time to prepare (deploy hardpoints, fire off mines etc. etc.) before your enemy arrives. Not much use apart from that due to the fact that correcting for overshooting a station takes me like 20 seconds (I'm not a good pilot) and this is still less than the emergency cooldown. Not sure though, you should ask someone with more experience
