You can actually change in the Options menue whether stations should adress you using the commander's name, ship's name, or ship's ID for the 3-letter abbreviated callsign, but that is the general pattern, yes.
I did notice, however, that if I am flying the T9, I am fittingly adressed as " Lakon Heavy Bravo one Golf " (my T9's ID being 'B1G-S", obviously).
