So, you bitching about ship which u dont even upgraded? Well so get youself upgrades and go for a fight.
Python is a good ship for its price, yes its consumption of fuel is pretty big but its also a big ship with powerful thrusters. Its also build as military compact ship so it can run mid pads, and handle lots of cargo, but in action u wont use this space for cargo, you will use it for cells and othe stuff which u need to survive. It is the best ship for the battle at the moment.
Clipper compare to Python is a luxury ship were the logic is beuty not a function, Clipper has lots of wasting space like his cockpit, and wings. It's build for pilot enjoyment not for exact purpose. Yes you can fight with it but not as good as with Python.
Python is pretty the best in its class u basicaly can do what ever you want, the upgrades are reasonably cheap, so you wont face problems like with Anaconda.
There was a talk that the Python was nerfed, I havent tried it after that, maybe there was changes but people who fighting with it are still happy.
