I'd like to ask a question: If we compare c3 gimballed multicannons to c3 gimballed beam lazers, which one of them would inflict more damage to a subsystem?
c3 g mc's have:
an armor piercing rating of 37
breach damage of 1.5,
c3 g beam lazers have:
ap rating of 35,
bd of 10
from this situation it looks like thermal weapons are best for subsys. targeting (as long as you have power and heat mitigation, they also seems to have pinpoint accuracy), but shouldn't they be less efficient? I mean it is said that thermal weapons should be utilized against shields and kinetic for the hull and the subsystems, by this logic kinetic has to be more effective?
