Ridiculously expensive, much too situational. The only use for these if you are hunting another player who uses lasers exclusively, which never happens.
They get a hull boost of 250% (same as military grade composite), half all incoming thermal damage, but have horrible kinetic (-75%!) and explosive (-50%) resistances. Yes, you read that right: -75%.
Result: Multicannons will chew you up almost as fast than if you had reinforced alloy hull.
That wouldn't be too bad, but you can get military grade composite for less than half the price, which will give you much better staying power than kinetic but isn't too bad against lasers. Because let's face it, lasers are made for taking down shields.
