Look, to put it plainly... If you want to make money, you have to put in the time and effort to make it profitable. If your mining depleted rocky rings, or your using a 1D Refinery and manually picking things up, your not going to get very far. 1st. Set up your equipment: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=702,5QG5QGH7yH7y0mI0mI,2-7272725U5U5U6k,0720727Q45uk5PU0Ys for a descent starter. Scout your area, anything less than Major Reserves and Metal Rich are a waste of time. Stay clear of resource extraction sites and when you come out of super cruise go into the asteroid field, don't sit on the edges. That way, if pirates come, move to the other side of the ring, and get ready to roll. I make 4-4.5 M in 3 hours of mining. I didn't start there, I had to work for it. I've been playing this game for less than 3 months, mining's not for everyone. If you want to make money elsewhere, do so. Don't just say mining sucks and recommend people not mine. I rather enjoy mining.
