"As time consuming as it can be, a miner with the right technique can make just as much money as they would in other professions." <- This is a straight up lie, the person who wrote that is either naieve or legitimately does not comprehend economics. The opportunity cost of mining cripples it as a potential field of income. In the time it takes you to make 1 credit someone trading will earn 10,000 credits. The author clearly failed to take opportunity cost into account. Even with the inclusion of Painite, the developers last ditch effort to make mining worthwhile (as well as the prospector and harvester drones) it is still not financially viable and is a massive time and resource sink for players who cannot count to dump money back into the economy.
