Well I can't blame you for thinking that a government that calls it self The Empire and has regulated slavery is evil. But from what I read from GalNet the Empire frees non regulated slaves, sends doctors to cure outbreaks and so on while the Federation bombs its own planets (If I remember right it was while that onion head thing was popular, its a drug I think) and just a few days ago a pirate group has well blocked off a few of their systems and killing kidnaping the people while the Federation isn't doing anything about it. I might not know everything but the way I see it it's easy to see who the good guys are.
