Yes, combat logging is far worse than griefing because it is considered hacking/cheating. However I wouldn't say "play in solo if you're afraid of being griefed" because you'll miss meeting all kinds of good cmdrs too. Just try to build ships that are either really fast so they can outrun, or tanky enough that you can escape (maybe both :D). For instance my explo orca is made of paper but can boost over 640 with perma boost so I can usually escape any hostile encounters.. And at the end of the day if I don't it's only some fake money in a game that is insanely easy to get more of. Small price to pay to get to meet some nice ppl on occasion and have fun.
