Damn, I love this ship !
After this one I've had a Dropship, a Gunship, a Python and an Anaconda. I only kept the Conda but I barely use it anymore.
No matter which ship I try, I always come back to the Asp Explorer.
It's manoeuverabilty is unimpressive, that's true. It's a bit short on firepower, ok.
But in every other respect, It rocks : fantastic jumprange, very good speed/boost, solid cargo capacity. Enough internals to find a fitting that suits your playstyle.
This is the ultimate ship for smuggling (imo better than the Cobra, thanks to its larger cargohold) and exploration. It's also a perfect mission runner, a good trader/armed trader for its price, and It's nice for planetary exploration as well. Very good minig ship when needed.
Of course it's not meant to be a bounty hunter, but if you want to spend an hour in a RES to take a break from all the other activites, it will get the job done. And when you'll get interdicted while running a mission, you won't have to shy away from smaller ships (I would not recommand to 1V1 any elite FAS or FDL though, even in PVE).
And that big, bulky, industrial Lakon look.... !
