I've been flying the ASP Exp. for a few month now and agree with you. Yes it is a sinkhole for credits when A rated, but is versatile and very good for many roles. My current build is even a respectable fighter with 4 C1 gimballed cannons, two gimballed C2 beam lasers and reinforced bulkheads. FSD jumprange still above 20Ly. Downed a Master NPC Anaconda lately with relative ease (had to use SCB twice). However, it's not my first choice for Conflict Zones, because shields are rather weak, even with SBs. So you need to know when to run with this ship :)
