People whining about wear and tear clearly haven't been repairing every time they dock. I go out in my Conda and clean up 500k-1 mil in Combat Bonds easily, come back in and have 1-10k repairs on the wear and tear (sometimes I take a few hours to myself :x). Since I'm also a laser boat who watches his shields, wear and tear is the ONLY costs I typically run into on a retun stop.
tl;dr Repair when you can and don't fight without shields.
