It's a great entry level ship for mining, cargo hauling, or smuggling; not quite as cheap as a Hauler, but bigger and better armed, and it's not pirate bait the way some other cargo ships are.
I also think it's just plain fun to fly. It's pretty light on the controls and small enough that you can throw it in and out of the mail slot with wild abandon; just watch out for those wingtips. Plus there's something satisfying about the snarl of the thrusters echoing off the inside of a station when you chop the throttle back. If you dock a bit hard, repairs are cheap. I rarely approach at less than 200 m/s in this thing...which also makes it good for smuggling, since you can zip inside before there's time for a scan to complete.
This is also a pretty damn quick ship over long distances if you really strip it down, although a Hauler will beat it in the "budget Buckyballer" category.
